There are certain “tried and true” favorites that we adore here at Home Remedies and have kept in stock consistently from when we opened 12 years ago. The Rope Co. Woven Lobster Rope Doormats
Hand-woven in Maine from commercial fishing-grade lobster rope, these mats are made to last. Who says a doormat can’t be a stylish accent to your kitchen, mudroom, or entryway? Mold, mildew, and fade-resistant, cleaning them is easy-peasy – just shake them out or hose them down! Our staff has field-tested them in their homes and has given them a collective thumbs up.
Barr Co. Bath Products
Barr Co. bath products in original scent are truly a staple at Home Remedies. Made in the USA with natural ingredients, we love them for their yummy scent and classic packaging. Place them around the house – at the kitchen sink, in the guest powder room, or in your own bathroom for you and your guests to enjoy. We do have to warn you, though – like us, you could get addicted!
Coyuchi Percale Sheets
Made in California, these organic cotton sheets are the gold standard as far as we’re concerned! We sleep on them as well as give them as wedding gifts. While we carry other great Coyuchi sheet options too, the white percale is a tried and true fave that will never go out of style – you just can’t go wrong!
Spicher and Company Vintage Vinyl Floor Cloths
The possibilities are literally endless with these handy vinyl floor cloths. Bring pattern and color to any room without committing to new flooring. The Laundress Detergent
Not only do we make sure to stock the store with nearly the entire line of The Laundress’ detergents, but we bring it home to use too! We can’t get enough of the fresh clean scent of the Signature Detergent and we love the smell of the Le Labo scents (Rose and Santal) just as much. In fact, when Jen comes in smelling like roses, we all want to know the name of her perfume – it’s that good!
The Alexa II
If you’re a musical theater fan, you may have heard of Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, and the Alexa II is just as iconic. A blank canvas waiting for your special touches, this was one of the first couches we carried in 2010 and we’re still stocking it today. We call it the “Classic Maine Camp Couch” because it’s so comfortable and beloved by all. Generations of folks have been raised on white slipcovers. People and pets both clamor to sit on this very couch at Rachel’s camp, and for good reason. Made of machine washable (and bleachable!) denim, the Alexa II will always have a special place in our hearts.
HRH Prince Harry
Of course, we could never leave Prince Harry off our Tried and True list. 100% adorable, Harry is feeling refreshed and tan from his recent time upta camp and is ready to greet you on your next visit.
